(owner/director) has taught for over 37 years all genres and levels of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and musical theatre. For 30 years she has owned and operated Maria's School of Dance. During that time her dance companies and individual students won numerous competitions regionally and nationally and several students have gone on to Broadway. Maria served as Director of Dance for the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, Midland, Pa. for 8 years and was also the founder/director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center's Mancini Academy as well as the goodwill ambassadors, Mancini All-Stars. Maria was the assistant choreographer for Lincoln Park's first musical, "Grease." She served as choreographer/producer for Lincoln Park's Rhythm and Harmony, choreographer for Dances with Mancini, Stardust and produced the 2007, 2008 and 2010 Lincoln Park's production of The Nutcracker. Maria danced professionally as a performer, lead dancer, dance captain, and choreographer for 20 years in New York and Pittsburgh for many productions of the Civic Light Opera. Maria was also one of a small group of professionals who founded the Pittsburgh CLO Academy, and she choreographed the CLO Mini Stars for sixteen years. At the university level, Maria has taught all forms of dance at Point Park University, Carnegie Mellon University and Allegheny College. Maria received her professional training in New York City and across the country from nationally-acclaimed artists. She is a certified teacher by test through Dance Masters of America.
